We are psyched to announce our newest Ambassador -Keith Porges.
Keith has been trout fishing for about two years now. He started to get more into the catch and release aspect of fishing which led him to fly fishing and eventually landed him in the river with a tenkara rod in hand.
"I don’t use traditional tenkara flies. I have however used everything from size 32 flies to cress bugs and buggers. Tenkara allows me to get back to the basics and of what catch and release fishing is all about."
Keith is local to RBT and has quickly figured out the best techniques for one of the most challenging places to fish in MA, the Swift River.
Mason Thagouras, founder of White Mountain Anglers and Registered New Hampshire Guide, has always been passionate about NH’s great outdoors has He was raised here in the Androscoggin Valley, and spent most of his childhood fly fishing the Androscoggin River near his grandparent’s home in Shelburne NH, walking up and down its banks studying the bug life and trout habitats from one pool to the next. Ever since he began casting a fly rod and tying flies at an early age, he has been enamored by the state’s water and the local fishery, and over time, fly fishing became the center of his universe. Since the day he received his driver’s license Mason has never stopped exploring the local Granite State waters on the hunt for elusive wild and naturalized trout. Mason is a preferred guide at North Country Angler in North Conway. For more info visit his site
Guide and RBT Ambassador Nate Hill of Hill Country Guides in the White Mountains (NH) using the RBT ONE to teach fly fishing to future anglers. By educating today's youth we can protect and preserve the future of native fish and their habitat. To book a guided trip in the White Mountains visit Hill Country Guides
The brook trout that wore sandals... "...Looking down I realized he had somehow hooked the fly to the back of my water sandal. So now I had a fish on the line that ran through my net and was connected to my sandal. You couldn’t make this stuff up. ..."
If you plan on visiting the White Mountains of NH, stop in at NCA and get the local info on where to fish and what setups work best . NCA carries RBT tenkara gear and offers guide services as well.
